The Dwarven Wedding Session 26

Session #26 of The Dwarven Wedding.

Summary

Verity and Veiko chat to get to know each other better as Hadarri and Remnant work to get Ceran up and running again. Later, Luana tried to get Veiko to wear Tolnor's owlbear cloak, with little success. Following, she gets a lot of food from the Dwarves for their trip into Torunn. Hark tries to be helpful by spreading the word of Pelor, specifically the newsletter: "The Rising Sun."

The gang secrets their way into the city, they mapped it to when the river's divine power would be at its peak (3 days after they arrived to the Dwarven settlement). By the skin of their teeth (and with Ceran blocking the hole in the river's cage), they make it into the city via the river and to the sewer entrance beneath a large bridge. The Jort brothers wait to guard the entrance while the heroes make their way to Kharza-khad's chambers.

After some walking, they run into an Oni and a pair of were rats. The fight is won, but Remnant is injured and a new personality takes over the construct, this time: Dr. Torunn Torunn, creator of the memory constructs (aka Remembrance Golems) for the Dwarves. He explains what's been going on with the construct and is curious about this darkness. He explains that this specific construct had been modified somehow to contain Hextor. (all of this is very curious to Veiko)

Hadarri, after discussion with Torunn Torunn, concludes that Remnant is "dying." Every time he "uses" one of the personalities within him, it disappears. Torunn and Hadarri fear that once they're all gone, Remnant, the construct and the "personality," will die. In his studying of Remnant, Hadarri also discovers a way to sever the connection with Remnant's pocket dimension.
