    • A male human soldier posted at Fort Gallant, Gorham is the personal aide to Hadiya Najiri.

    • Commander Najiri is a female human with fair skin, short, dark hair and a trio of scars down the right side of her face. One of her legs has been replaced with a crude, but effective, military prosthetic. She took command of Midnight Squad upon their arrival at Fort Gallant and dispatched them to rescue a priest from the Hylaxian temple in the Jurdos mountain range.
  • Janxer: Fort Gallant’s quartermaster is a spry ysoki engineer named Janxer. She operates out of a mobile tech station in the back of a half-track SDF vehicle.
    • Janxer is a ysoki female whose white fur is patterned with splotches of orange and dark brown. While she holds the role of quartermaster, she is not a part of the SDF military hierarchy.
  • Zantos Loachwurt: A human man with thinning hair wearing a dirty lab coat. Attached to one of the coat’s front pockets is a security ID from his place of employment, Bronze Beam Research Consortium, with his picture and name printed underneath: “Loachwurt, Z.”
    • Loachwurt is a male human approaching middle age. His hair is thinning and his ruddy face is pocked with old scars. He almost caused a riot in Fort Gallant before an SDF trooper dispersed the crowd.
  • The Newles Family: The cornered family--Cottra, Myrriol, and their daughter Zebeka--exits the vehicle and thanks the PCs for saving their lives.
    • The Newleses were nearly killed by Swarm dredgers before Midnight Squad was able to rescue them. They informed Midnight Squad of the fuel lockdown in Lynmari.
  • Susreth Susaro: A male lashunta wearing an SDF uniform emerges from the guard building. His eyes are wild, his hair is disheveled, and he is waving his laser pistol over his head.
    • Susaro is a male damaya lashunta with olive green skin and bright red hair. He was a member of the missing Second Batallion and suffered some form of psychic attack. Believing he was under attack by Swarm creatures, he sheltered in the guard post of the Greater Sahtor Waterworks until Midnight Squad found him and brought him back to his senses. He joined Midnight Squad in a non-combat capacity.
  • Reda Cooper: The crowd seems upset, their anger and confusion directed toward a human woman in a business suit standing in front of the doors, flanked by two security officers wielding laser rifles.
    • Cooper is a female human with fair skin and blonde hair. She manages the Longship Agricultural Alliance processing center in Lynmari and was preventing its citizens from evacuating to Reos City. Upon investigation, Midnight Squad discovered that she had been controlled by a bodysnatcher slime. Its motivations for keeping the civilians in Lynmari are unknown.
  • Xelonan: Stepping through the wooden doors leading to the inner sanctum, the PCs hear a low chanting and see dozens of ghostly Swarm creatures whirling throughout the chamber. This phenomenon is centered on an older male shirren, who floats a foot above the floor, his eyes emanating wispy green smoke. This is the priest Xelonan.
    • Xelonan is a male shirren with an iridescent blue carapace and red compound eyes. He is a priest of Hylax, and was rescued by Midnight Squad from a temple in the Jurdos Mountains. He claimed to have vital information about the swarm, and was convincing enough that the SDF sent two squads to collect him.
  • Kilora Gishi: Leading them is an older human woman, who greets you in a weary and frightened tone. "My name is Kilora Gishi. I'm on the city council here in Reos."
    • Gishi is a female human, her dark skin heavily lined with age. Her hair has gone completely white. Councilwoman Gishi was traveling with a group of civilians before being evacuated by Midnight Squad.
  • Otvash: A massive vesk steps forward, the hilt of a modern greataxe sticking up over one shoulder. "Well, if it isn't Scum. Thought you died with the rest of The Fifth. Guess you're harder to kill than you look."
    • Otvash is a male vesk mercenary. His scales are primarily red, with only small patches of dark green mottling his skin. He was hired on to fight with the SDF alongside SKM-19 and was thought killed in the Battle of Stone Sea.
  • Kenda Vickan: To Councilwoman Gishi's right sits a willowy half-elf, her coveralls still smeared with grease.
    • Vickan is a female half-elf rescued from Reos City during Midnight Squad's escape from Suskillon. She introduced herself as an engineer but has not gone into further detail.
  • Ch'thrak: Standing behind the table is a formian wearing an outdated SDF uniform. His red-brown carapace is pitted from old wounds and his left arm ends just below the elbow. The hookup for a robotic prosthetic caps the stump, though the arm itself is missing.
    • Ch'thrak is a male formian soldier covered in rust colored chitin. He is a former SDF soldier, but he retired many years before. He served primarily as a medic and still retains some of his former skills.
  • Saldri Teamus Caenal Rom Cehan of Clan Vaes, Oathspeaker of Danai: A kasatha in ragged business attire rounds out the group. His suit is dirty and torn, one lens of his glasses is cracked, but the black silk scarf tied around the lower part of his face is pristine.
    • Saldri is a male kasatha with ivory skin and grey eyes. He is a lawyer by trade.
  • Chendwen: A thin human woman in SDF fatigues stands at one of the computer consoles, attempting to patch her personal datapad into the system. She starts when you enter but quickly composes herself.

  • Thisskt: A shirren with red-orange eyes steps through the doorway, his hands wreathed in technomantic formulae. He laughs scornfully as a trio of mystical projectiles fly unerringly in your direction.
    • Thisskt is a male shirren technomancer and a long-time friend and ally of Sister Spark. Faced with Bun's solarian flames, he chose escape over the cause and vanished into the New Grakkan evening.
  • Etchiax: "Seems obvious you're not with the Swarm," says the shirren woman, slinging her rifle over her shoulder and raising the visor of her dusty, acid-scarred armor."
    • Etchiax is a female shirren mechanic and scout for Clade Company, the resistance faction on Ilemchuuva. She wears heavy armor and balances on a pair of cybernetic legs.

  • Queue: A heavily augmented android carrying a heavy cannon of some kind gives you a solemn nod as Etchiax introduces him.

    • Hescame is an agender bolida veteran who stumbled into leadership when their underground home became a refuge for survivors of Ilemchuuva's Swarm invasion. They formed Clade Company to take back their homeworld or die trying.
  • Jadvata: A nervous shirren wearing goggles and a ripped, stained Zessh University sweater approaches. "Did I hear you were asking about Professor Galchak?"
    • Jadvata is a host shirren student, formerly of Zessh University. They were studying engineering prior to the Swarm invasion and offer to use their knowledge of Gelugon fire extinguishers to build cryo weaponry.
