The Dwarven Wedding Session 11
Session #11 of The Dwarven Wedding.
Date: January 15th, 2017
Character Level: 6th - Level Up at end of Session!
Summary
After some travel, our heroes reach the fork to Thain-win where they meet a man named Alabaster McCarthy who wants to sell them potions1. After some debate about the legitamacy of said apothecary, Tolnor decides to buy one of the potions2.
That night, the group settles down for the night but is attacked by Gricks! They easily defeat the beasts and continue on their way.
The following day, the group is met by Ricky, the excited Half-Elf from Riverbend, who is pulling his caravan full of Gnomes. Luana ran to hide in the forest as one of the gnomes steps out of the caravan to ask them where she is. Tolnor threatens the Gnome and tells him to get on his way.
That night, sleep goes uninterrupted.
When the group approaches the bridge to cross the river north towards Thain-win, they see Ricky tied to his flipped caravan, beaten. He explains that the two Gnomes who the group knew were killed and that the Tytherion Boys were meeting some friends ahead on the road to capture Luana (who he sternly was convinced WAS, indeed, just a horse). Ricky admits that he didn't want to cause any harm, but he mentioned he'd seen the group and was forced into helping. He warns Verity and Remnant that they should just turn Luana in and leave the issue be.
Despite arguments, Ricky joins the party--if only for safe travels to the next city.
Remnant discovers the body of one of the Gnomes from the Mighty Seahorse dead in the river. He learns through his mystic powers and a knife leftover in the dead Gnomes chest that the Gnomes didn't want to go to find Luana. The knife has the crest of the Melilth family on its hilt. This also proves that Ricky was telling the truth. But the Gnomes are looking for Luana and they think she's going to Marsh.
After flipping the caravan back over, Ricky goes in to change and Verity sees him naked. Once they group crosses the bridge, they see the mountaintops of Thain-win; a circular cloud surrounds the mountain's peak where winged elves soar up and down delivering messages and frolicking from the city below to the floating markets in the clouds.
Despite a day of anxiety, our heroes settle for the night. Ricky becomes extremely nervous, believing he's definitely going to die.
The next day, upon passing another fork in the road, Tolnor sneaks away and discovers that the Gnomes did pass through the area, but turned towards Marsh rather than Thain-win. The old human he speaks to was incredibly kind.
During the travel, Ricky is certain everyone is going to kill him unless he stays in line, so he's prepared to be a good soldier. And Remnant develops a habit of reading Dwarven smut novels to Ricky.
