Enter The Void (flashback)

Mission notes from Session #3 of Shadowbuns. A flashback one-shot.

Summary

Months before the entire teams meets up in Detroit, MRV, Killy, and Mirrors, gather together to attend the final night of The Void, a popular nightclub that's shutting down. They figure that with the popularity of the club, many powerful and influential people will be in attendance and it'd be a good opportunity to network, scrounge up some work, or score some quick cash.

The clubs is extremely busy when they arrive, but Killy's contact, the troll bouncer named Yoshimi, they are admitted quickly and with little fuss.

The team notices that there is a lot of money present at the club. Lots of people buying drinks and food. Drugs circulating. But with MRV's history of boosting cars for his gang contact Hammah, they decide that the main targets should be the vehicles in the garage beneath the club and/or whatever valuables the club has in the upper floors.

As they are about to make their move, the clubs owner arrives. Known only as The Host, he is dressed in expensive clothes and being guarded by an Knight Errant security agent.

Using quick wits and a little imaginative magic, Mirror is able to sneak upstairs, past the private rooms, and down the hall to the office space that overlooks the clubs main space. He finds it is magically locked.

Almost simultaneously, The Host, his adviser, and Ares bodyguard begin to head upstairs to the offices. MRV and Killy follow them in order to back up Mirrors should things go awry. Mirrors is able to cast an illusion to mask his presence, though its not enough to mask MRV and Killy who stumble upstairs and accidentally run into the clubs owner.

Through a series of thoroughly confusing events, including Mirror leaping out from behind his illusion and blasting one of their assailants with his roomsweeper, the team is able to defeat The Host and his entourage. Not questioning any of their wounded foes, Mirror takes it upon himself to execute them, the soundproofing of the private rooms masking his hail of gunfire as well as the preceding fight.

The Ares bodyguard wasn't a chump and wounded both MRV and Mirrors heavily. Injured and with no transport, the team mask their wounds as best they can and head down to the garage to hopefully boost a ride for their escape. A couple triggered alarms and a small firefight later and the teams successfully escapes The Void.

Notes

• The team attends the final night of The Void being open.
• The team encounters The Host, a powerful and influential arms dealer in the sprawl.
• The team notices an omega symbol embossed in the Knight Errant bodyguards armor.
• Mirrors executed The Host, his dwarf adviser/mage, and the Ares Knight Errant guard.
• Mirrors takes smuggler network info, and a handful of jewelry from The Host's safe
• MRV steals an incredibly fancy car from the underground garage to fence to Hammer.
