DM Summary

Travel!

Having bested Hecate's golem, left the fortress, forgotten the Dwarven paintings, killed the kobolds, and gathered some riches for themselves, out gang of heroes find themselves back at the tavern/inn where our story began. But not all is good for Matilda and Tommy/Timmy. Despite returning little Jimmy to the family, no one is happy with our heroes.

But alas! A caravan passes our group and they decide to tag along up the mountain city of Brisk to sell the items they found in the fortress. In investigating the caravan, they find that the prince of Seaside (a major human city) is traveling with what they assume to be other rich merchants. But there is unrest among the poorer merchants who travel with this caravan, with word of an uprising whispered to our heroes. In the commotion of joining the caravan, Ella disappears, as does Smash.

Deciding to camp with the group, The Professor, Mikey, and the newly-returned Phineaus plan to figure out just what is going on with this caravan and it's groups of upset merchants. The professor attempts to meet with the prince, only to find he is a 9-year-old boy being watched over by an old man named Bartleby(?) from a half-human, half-elf city called Delf. The professor attempts to warn the man, but he wishes to hear none of it, and sends The Professor away.

Meanwhile, Mikey and Phineaus scout the camped area, where the find Smash in a tree--Smash who had decided to hunt on his own for a bit. Suddenly, there is a commotion, and what the group thought was rich-folk from Seaside, actually turn out to be massive gladiators! The gladiators begin to round up the humans who are traveling from Seaside who are originally from Delf for slaughter. The Professor attempts to warn Bartleby, but he will not hear it. It is with this that Smash, Mikey, and Phineaus decide they have no choice but to fight the gladiators.

After defeating the gladiator's leader, the other men scamper away. What does this mean for the traveling caravan? And what about our heroes? Will they make it to Brisk to sell their wares? Will they survive the next 4 days of the trip?
