There is to be no use of magic spells in the Coliseum. Use of an item holding a magic spell (not a magically imbued item) is call for immediate forfeit in the Coliseum, and banning from Birsk for up to one year.

Magic items (ie. Silver, Flame, etc.), armor, and pendants are permitted in the Coliseum fights provided they do not cast spells outwardly.

Fighters can lose a fight in one of two ways:

# A fighter yields by dropping their weapon and speaking the words "I yield."
# Death

=== Day One ===
The first day of the event is a "qualifier" (free attendance to the public). On this day, matches are held concurrently with tracking done by multiple coliseum mathematicians. Three to five fights will be held concurrently until there are exactly thirty-two fighters remaining<ref name="fight-exemption" />. Bets for this day are rarely held as odds are not normally favorable.

Two, randomly assigned, brackets of 16 fighters will fight off against each other until there are only two fighters left.

Fights are done in bouts of three, with breaks of 30 minutes between each bout, save the final fight in which there is a break until the moon has risen over the coliseum and the fight can begin.

The final fighter wins the Title Belt.
